Abia Police arrests officer over alleged rape of Student

Abia State Police Command has assured that justice must prevail on the case of the student of the state Polytechnic, Aba who was allegedly raped by a police corporal attached to its Rapid Response Squad.

A statement issued by the command Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Geoffrey Ogbonna, disclosed that the corporal has been arrested and detained.

The statement revealed that the state commissioner of Police visited the victim in the hospital and condoled with her, noting that the command has commenced investigation on the case.

Recall that some men of the Nigeria Police Force attached to the Rapid Response Squad in Aba Division, were accused of raping a student.
