The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention has revealed that 72 per cent of all confirmed cases of Lassa fever in 2022 were reported in Ondo, Edo and Bauchi states.
Director-General of the Centre, Ifedayo Adetifa disclosed this at the Federal Ministry of Health ministerial press briefing on COVID-19.
Adetifa noted that the NCDC in collaboration with partners, federal and state stakeholders of the Technical Working Group has conducted the finalization and validation of a 5-year strategic plan to reduce Lassa fever fatality ratio in the country to less than 10 per cent.
He, therefore, enjoined citizens to remain committed to supporting the national efforts in controlling the spread of infectious diseases in our various capacities.
