The Adamawa State House of Assembly has constituted a seven-member committee to investigate the recent boat accidents that has claimed 26 lives in the Yola South and Fufore Local Government Areas of the state.
The Speaker, Bathiya Wesley, stated this in an interview with the Newsmen in Yola, on Tuesday.
Wesley said the committee had been mandated to unravel the cause of the accidents and make recommendations to avert future occurrences.
According to him, the committee will engage the local council chairmen and community leaders to sensitize the affected riverine communities to the imperative of using life-jackets while traveling on water.
