Enugu State Governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, has called for the designation of Enugu as an oil producing state.
Governor Ugwuanyi, who was represented by his deputy, Cecilia Ezeilo, made the call on Monday, when he received commissioners and top management team of the Revenue Mobilization, Allocation and Fiscal Commission, RMAFC, led by the Chairman, Indices and Disbursement Committee, Chris Akomas, at Government House, Enugu.
Ugwuanyi said the request for the designation of the state as an oil-producing state became imperative because of the volume of crude oil exploited from the state.
The RMAFC delegation were in Enugu for an interactive session with members of the Enugu State Executive Council, the 17 local government chairmen and other stakeholders in line with the commission’s ongoing nationwide sensitization tour on the review of the existing revenue allocation formula.
