Obaseki Calls For Full Implementation Of NLTP

Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki has called for full implementation of the National Livestock Transformation Programme, NLTP, to address the problem of clashes between farmers and herders.

Governor Obaseki made the call on Wednesday when he addressed newsmen at the State House after a closed-door meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, on Wednesday in Abuja.

Obaseki said that the people of the State had resolved that ranching was a private business and should be treated as such.

The Governor maintained that the state government is yet to promulgate a law banning open grazing because it sees the venture as private business.
