The Nigerian Navy, in collaborating with other security agencies, on Thursday, conducted a search-and-rescue drill in Rivers to train personnel on waterways management.
The sister security agencies that participated in the exercise were the Nigerian Army, the Nigerian Air Force, the Nigeria Police Force, the National Emergency Management Agency; and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps.
Others were the Nigerian Maritime and Safety Agency; the National Inland Waterways Authority; the Nigerian Ports Authority; and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
The exercise, according to the Navy, was aimed at improving the response capacity of relevant agencies in acting appropriately to emergencies within the waterways of the state.
