The House of Representatives has launched an investigation into alleged certificate racketeering involving officials from Federal Government Ministries in Nigeria.
Abubakar Fulata, Chairman of the Joint Committee on Certificate Racketeering, has promised to tackle this issue to protect tertiary institutions during a recent session in Abuja.
He highlighted the potential harm certificate fraud could cause to the healthcare system and the economy if left unchecked.
Fulata disclosed that the House has tasked Committees on University Education, Interior, Foreign Affairs, and Youth Development to delve into the matter and provide a comprehensive report.
Fulata also urged cooperation from Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) and other stakeholders to achieve effective results in combating this illicit activities
