The people of Nsukka Cultural Zone have increased appeals for the federal government to consider one of their sons for the position of Vice Chancellor of the University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN), as Prof. Charles Igwe’s term is scheduled to expire in June of this year.
They are hinging their demand on the fact that 64 years after the institution was established, nobody from the area has headed the university.
A former governor of old Enugu State, Dr Okwesilieze Nwodo was interviewed by Newsmen on Wednesday, where he vigorously canvassed the argument.
Nwodo, a one-time national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, said it was an issue of morality.
