The National Cybercrime Centre of the Nigeria Police Force has arrested the prankster Zfancy in Abuja for creating threatening video pranks.
Force Public Relations Officer ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi announced that Zfancy was arrested in the Wuye area of the Federal Capital Territory following the circulation of videos on social media that accused him of heinous crimes, including rape and videos caused significant apprehension among social media users.
Zfancy claimed the videos were scripted as part of an attempt to regain the spotlight after a break.
However, the police emphasized that such actions have serious implications and cannot be taken lightly while the he Nigeria Police Force remains committed to public safety and ensuring accountability for actions that incite fear or disturb public peace.
Adejobi warned pranksters and content creators to be law-abiding and mindful of the potential threats their pranks could pose to public security, also urged the public to remain calm as the police proceed with necessary legal actions in this case.
