The Federal government, through the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), has announced the deployment of 10,000 agro rangers across the country.
This was disclosed by the Special Assistant to President Tinubu on New Media, Olusegun Dada, in a post via his official X handle.
According to the statement, the agro-rangers initiative is a partnership between the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security and the NSCDC noting that the agro-rangers will help protect farmers against malicious destruction of farmlands as well as check the farmer-herder conflict.
This is against the backdrop of high insecurity in farms around Nigeria, as the presidency has said that this initiative will tackle issues threatening food production in the country.
