The First Lady of Nigeria, Oluremi Tinubu, and National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, are set to lead national prayers aimed at seeking divine intervention in Nigeria’s economic challenges.
The announcement was made by Segun Afolorunikan, Director General of the National Prayer Forum (NPF), during a press briefing in Abuja.
According to Afolorunikan, the 2024 national prayer initiative, themed “Seeking the Intervention of God in Nigeria’s Affairs,” seeks to rally both Christian and Muslim leaders in a united appeal for divine support amid the country’s ongoing economic crises.
Organized in collaboration with both Christian and Muslim religious leaders, the prayer event aims to inspire renewed hope as Nigeria enters 2025, with Afolorunikan expressing optimism that it will strengthen leaders and citizens to confront the country’s common challenges.
The week-long event will see Muslims at the National Mosque reciting the Qur’an, while Christians gather at the National Ecumenical Centre for intercessory prayers on national issues.
