The Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC, has warned the general public of a new Android malware that has been discovered.
A statement signed by NCC Spokesman, Ikechukwu Adinde, stated that the discovery was announced by the Nigerian Computer Emergency Response Team.
The statement noted that the malware, known as ‘Abstract Emu’, can gain access to smart phones, take complete control of infected smart phones and silently modify device settings while simultaneously taking steps to evade detection.
It revealed that the app has been found to be distributed via Mobile stores and third-party stores as well as other lesser-known market places.
