Myanmar has charged former elected leader Aung Kyi, and 16 others with election fraud over the 2020 elections.
Kyi, former President, and the former head of the Elections Commission were accused of election fraud and lawless actions during the November polls.
The former leader has been detained since the military seized power on February 1 and has been charged with a litany of offences.
The armed forces have controlled Myanmar for most of the decades since the country’s independence.
