Ebonyi State Governor, David Umahi, has urged the National Assembly to address sections of the constitution that are inconsistent with modern trends that support the security of lives and property.
Umahi, who was represented by his deputy, Kelechi Igwe, disclosed this while delivering his address at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka during the combined Lecture Series held in the university.
He maintained that the move was necessary as it would help address the issues of conflict and insecurity bedeviling the country.
The Governor restated the commitment of southeast Governors towards carrying out their constitutional mandate of protecting the lives and properties of residents in the southeast zone.
