The Chairman, Senate Committee on Environment, Ike Ekweremadu, has raise alarm over the alleged N16bn smuggled into the 2022 budget of the Ministry of Environment.
Ekweremadu disclosed this to newsmen, during the Appropriation panel defense of his committee’s 2022 budget report.
He stated that budget was for servicing of a multilateral loan regarding erosion control across the country.
The Senator noted that the loans would be deducted from the allocations to beneficiary states and not from the budgets of Agencies of the Ministry of Environment.
