FG to Ensure Liquidation of Outstanding Pension Arrears

The Federal Government says it is committed to ensuring the full liquidation of outstanding pension arrears.

Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Zainab Ahmed disclosed this on Tuesday at the official finalization payment of inherited unfunded liabilities to pensioners of defunct agencies, organized by the Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate, PTAD, in Abuja.

Ahmed disclosed that the funds that were used to offset the liabilities were recovered pension assets held by insurance underwriters and other local and international investment agencies.

The Minister commended the Directorate for the achievements and urged them to remain focused on their recovery efforts.
