South Africa and Liberia both scored in the final ten minutes of their matches on Monday, resulting in identical 1-0 victories in the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 qualifiers.
Bongokuhle Hlongwane scored with seven minutes remaining to help the Bafana Bafana upset Ghana’s Black Stars 1-0 at the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg, moving to the top of Group G with four points after a 0-0 draw with Zimbabwe on match day one.
Liberia, meanwhile, finished second in Group C after a solitary goal victory over Central African Republic.
With only four minutes left on the clock, Kpah Sherman scored the lone goal for Liberia.
Liberia increased their lead to three points.
