Federal Government Refutes Claim of Laying Off Workers

The Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Zainab Ahmed, has said the Federal Government has no plan to lay off government workers.

Ahmed disclosed this in an interview with newsmen on Thursday in Abuja.

She refuted claims that the government was planning on sacking workers in order to save funds.

The Minister stressed that the federal government would reduce overheads by ensuring that government agencies are merged.
