The Defense Headquarters has said wearing military uniforms by unauthorized persons is illegal.
A statement issued by Defense Spokesman, Wap Maigida, revealed that some politicians have formed the habit of wearing military regalia for campaign posters.
The statement stressed that the Armed Forces of Nigeria, as a professional institution, remains apolitical.
It implored politicians and others to desist from the use of military uniforms for political events and other engagements as anyone found culpable would be liable to prosecution.
