A South African court on Tuesday charged a man, Zandile Mafe suspected of starting a devastating fire that gutted South Africa’s parliament with terrorism.
The Prosecution Spokesman, Eric Ntabazalila disclosed to newsmen during a court recess that the accused detonated a device inside parliament.
Mafe was arrested near the parliament complex after the fire broke out on January 2, 2022.
Since his arrest, debate has raged in South Africa over whether Mafe was responsible for setting the building on fire.
