The National Primary Healthcare Development Agency, NPHCDA, has said individuals aged 16 and 17 are free to receive coronavirus jabs.
The agency gave the approval in its advisory.
According to reports, countries in Europe and the United States of America had also begun the administration of vaccines for children.
Meanwhile, the World Health Organization’s regional office for Africa, declared the Omicron variant of COVID-19 as the dominant strain in two African countries Nigeria and Cape Verde.
