Unlike the second wave of the coronavirus epidemic, Nigeria has seen a recent spike in new COVID-19 infections.
According to statistics obtained from the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, there has been a significant increase in the number of daily confirmed cases from July 1, 2021, when there were 74 cases.
Nigeria had conducted 2,779,725 PCR tests, 195,511 confirmed coronavirus infections, and 2,552 deaths since the pandemic began in all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Abuja, as of September 5, 2021.
