Djokovic flies out of Australia after deportation

Novak Djokovic has flown out of Melbourne airport on Sunday after losing a court battle to avoid deportation from Australia over his stance on Covid-19 vaccinations.

A Federal Court unanimously rejected his appeal to stay in the country and defend his Australian Open title.

The orders of the court are that the amended application be dismissed.

Djokovic, however said he was extremely disappointed by the court’s decision to uphold the government’s cancellation of his visa, but he would comply and leave the country.
