Stampede at Liberian Church Kills 29

Dozens of people have been killed in a stampede at a religious event in the suburbs of Liberia’s capital.

Confirming the incident, Police Spokesman, Moses Carter said at least 29 people were killed in the disaster including children, stating that the toll may increase.

According to Careter, the stampede erupted when a gang of thugs armed with knives attacked some of the hundreds attending the ceremony.

The Police Spokesman added that one person has been arrested.
