The Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria, HURIWA, has called for the suspension of the South East Security Outfit Ebubeagu.
A statement signed by the National Coordinator of the Association, Emmanuel Onwubiko, called for the disbandment of the security outfit in Ebonyi State, claiming that it constitutes a danger to the lives of opponents of Governor Dave Umahi.
The statement alleged that the group may be illegally empowered by incumbent state governments in the region to fight opposition.
It added that ever since the security outfit was launched, there has been a rash of violent attacks launched on leaders of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the State.
