The Federal government has revealed that the remediation and cleanup of contaminated parts of Ogoniland may last for 10 years.
The Minister of State for Environment, Sharon Ikeazor disclosed this to newsmen in Abuja on Monday.
Ikeazor noted that the people of Ogoni have been incorporated into the project to ensure its continuity.
The Minister added that the ministry is accelerating the remediation project, expanding on the livelihood programme of the hydrocarbon impacted communities.
