Rivers State Government has launched a newly developed technology that will be used in the fight against artisanal refineries in the state.
Speaking after the presentation, the state Commissioner for Energy, Peter Medee, said the move was to complement the effort of the state government in the fight against illegal refineries.
Medee noted that the technology is expected to work as an electronic receipt and automated seals for petroleum products purchased from legitimate sources.
The Commissioner added that over one thousand filling stations have already signed up on the platform.
