Nigeria Spent 4.56trillion Naira on Fuel Importation

Nigeria spent a total of N4.56 trillion on the importation of fuel in 2021, 128% higher than the N2 trillion spent on fuel importation in 2020.

According to foreign trade data published by the National Bureau of Statistics, this is the highest amount spent on the importation of motor spirit.

Nigeria spent a whopping N6.3 trillion on Fuels and Lubricants imports in 2021 dwarfing the N2.83 trillion, N2.5 trillion, and N3.8 trillion incurred in 2020, 2019, and 2018 respectively.
