Kenya’s Opposition Leader Declares Protest

Kenya’s opposition leader Raila Odinga has said protests will take place every Monday until President William Ruto addresses the economic plaguing the country.

Odinga is pushing for electoral justice which is a mixture of his disputed claim that he won the last election and a push to block the reconstitution of the team that runs the country’s election.

Business activities have been disrupted in the capital and in Kisumu, his political stronghold.

Police have been firing tear gas at protesters and have reportedly made arrests including of some opposition politicians.
