The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has slammed the Zamfara State government for maintaining a minimum wage of N8,000 for primary school teachers across its 14 local government areas.
Speaking at the Secretariat in Gusau on Wednesday during the Workers’ Day celebration, the Chairman of NLC in Zamfara State, Sani Halliru, verbalized his disappointment that his colleagues at the primary school level are still collecting N8,000 as monthly salary despite their unwary efforts.
Halliru went further to appeal to the governor of the state Governor Dauda Lawal to expeditiously implement the current N30,000 national minimum wage for Zamfara school teachers, pointing out their dedication despite the meager pay.
