National Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has suspended the National Vice Chairman (South South), Dan Orbih.
The National Publicity Secretary of the party, Debo Ologunagba, in a statement, said the decision was taken at the 588th NWC meeting, according to him, the NWC considered all issues, including complaints on the activities of Orbih concerning the September 21st, 2024 Governorship election in Edo State and consequently, set up a six-member committee headed by the Deputy National Chairman (South) Taofeek Arapaja, to investigate the issue pursuant to the provisions of the Constitution of the Party.
The NWC charges all leaders, critical stakeholders and teeming members of the Party in Edo State to remain united, focused and continue to work hard for the victory of the Party and Candidate in the September 21st, 2024 Governorship election in Edo State.
Recall that, PDP has been dealing with internal wrangling in Edo State after the conduct of the primary election that produced Asue Ighodalo as its candidate for the governorship election in the state in September.
Members who were dissatisfied with the primary had taken the party to court, with Justice Inyang Ekwo invalidating it over the exclusion of 378 delegates in a judgement last week.
