The Nigerian Communication Commission, NCC, has said at least 195.4 million phone subscribers are in the country as of December 2021.
The Commission’s Executive Vice-Chairman, Umar Danbatta, disclosed this at the ongoing 43rd Kaduna International Trade Fair in Kaduna State.
Danbatta noted that subscribers to Internet stood at 141 million, with a broadband connection of 40.88 per cent.
The Vice Chairman added that unlike 1G, 2G, 3G and 4G, the 5G network will bring substantial network improvements, as well as low-latency capabilities to communications services in Nigeria.
