Human Rights Writers Association, HURIWA, has said fuel scarcity being experienced in the country is a way of making Nigerians accept an increase in fuel price.
A statement signed by its National Coordinator, Emmanuel Onwubiko, recalled that the All Progressives Congress, APC, announced that it had suspended the planned petrol subsidy removal expected to kick off by June this year.
The statement claimed that the government is satisfied with the extortion by fuel markers at filling stations.
The statement noted that it is unfortunate that the fuel crisis caused by the criminal importation and distribution of dirty petrol has not subsided despite the monopoly of the state-owned Nigerian National Petroleum Company.
