The Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria, HURIWA, has threatened to file a suit against the Federal government and the five Governors in the South-East Geopolitical Zone at the International Criminal Court, over the rising killings and kidnapping in the Zone.
A statement issued by HURIWA’s National Coordinator, Emmanuel Onwubiko, described the incidents in Imo, Enugu, Anambra, Ebonyi, and Abia States as crime against humanity.
According to the statement, both Federal and State governments are duty-bound to protect the citizens.
Recall that gunmen on Sunday kidnapped four reverend sisters in Imo State.
