Rivers State Police Command has stated that the ban on the use of fireworks before, during, and after Christmas and New Year celebrations is still in force.
A statement issued by the command’s Public Relations Officer, Grace Iringe-Koko, disclosed that the explosive nature of the fireworks informed the decision for the ban.
The statement appealed to public, parents and guardians, to warn their wards to desist from using crackers and knockouts during this period.
It, therefore, urged residents to be security conscious and at alert.
