The Abia State House of Assembly has urged the state government through the relevant agencies to immediately carry out the directive of the Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu to begin palliative work on the dilapidated Umuahia-Ikot Ekpene road.
The House made its position known after receiving presentation of a matter of urgent public importance by the member representing Ikwuano State Constituency, Emmanuel Nwabuisi, on the dangers posed by the dilapidated road during its plenary on Wednesday.
The House also urged the students and residents of Ikwuano LGA of the state to remain calm and go about their businesses while it wait for the Federal Emergency Road Maintenance Agency, FERMA and the state government to carry out immediate palliative on the road.
