A Federal High Court in Abuja has stopped the Federal Government from deducting $418m from the bank accounts of the 36 states of the federation.
In his ruling, the presiding judge Inyang Ekwo gave the restraining order following an ex parte application filed by the counsels to the 36 States Jibrin Okutepa, and Ahmed Raji.
Justice Ekwo restrained the Federal Government from making any deduction from the accounts of the States in respect of the Court judgment until all issues relating to it were fully determined.
The judge, however, adjourned the matter to November 30, 2021.
