The Minister of Defence, Bashir Magashi has attributed the rising cost of food prices to the prevalence of insecurity in the country.
Magashi, who disclosed this at the opening of a retreat for defense advisers in Abuja, urged security agencies to explore all avenues within their respective systems to curb insecurity in the country.
He noted that the threats currently facing Nigeria has continued to endanger not only national security and economic growth, but also food security.
The Minister called for collaboration among security agencies to tackle the menace in order to create an enabling atmosphere for economic activities.
