A Federal High Court in Abuja, has declared the banishment of the deposed Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, from the State as unconstitutional.
In his ruling, the presiding Judge, Anwuli Chikere, held that Sanusi had the right to live anywhere as enshrined in the country’s constitution.
Justice Chikere awarded a N10million fine against the 1st, 2nd and 3rd respondents, and ordered them to tender a public apology to the former Emir in two national dailies.
