Nigerian Army Foiled Abduction of Doctors in Imo

The Nigerian Army says troops of Exercise Golden Dawn foiled an attempted abduction of a group of doctors in Amauju, Isu Njaba Local Government Area of Imo State.

A statement issued by its Director of Army Public Relations, Onyema Nwachukwu, disclosed that the armed men attempted to kidnap the doctors providing free healthcare for residents, but the troops engaged them in a gun duel.

The statement noted that a member of the group was gunned down in the duel, while another with a gunshot wound was arrested.
