The Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities, SSANU, has cautioned governors against establishing universities they cannot fund.
This was contained in a communiqué issued by its North East, National Vice President, Abdulkadir Isa, after its zonal meeting in Maiduguri, Borno state capital.
The communiqué stated that the neglect and poor funding of universities is detrimental to teaching and research.
It condemned the sharing formula of the Federal Government for Earned Allowances at the rate of 75 per cent for teaching staff and 25 per cent for non-teaching staff.
