The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons, NAPTIP, says it has rescued 350 Nigerians trafficked to Libya and arrested six traffickers from January to date.
The Zonal Commander, NAPTIP, Lagos, Aganran Alao, disclosed this during a town hall meeting organized by the International Organization for Migration, IOM.
Alao said the agency has begun a media campaign and community awareness at the grassroots level to discourage irregular migration.
He urged the public to report suspicious cases of human traffickers and trafficking in their respective communities.
