Federal Government Declares October 1, Public Holiday

The Federal Government has declared Friday, October 1, as public holiday to mark the Nation’s 61st Independence Anniversary celebration.

Minister of interior, Rauf Aregbesola disclosed this yesterday in Abuja.

Aregbesola noted that celebrating Nigeria’s 61st Independence Anniversary is necessary, adding that the safety of the citizenry is President’s huge concern, especially with COVID-19 third Delta variant still in place.

The Minister assured Nigerians of government’s commitment to tackle and eradicate all forms of challenges including political and socio-economic problems.
