Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has described the decision by the National Assembly to allow the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to determine the use of electronic voting and transfer of results as a good development.
A statement issued yesterday by his Spokesman, Kelvin Ebiri revealed that a lot of countries have moved above manual transmission of results.
The statement commended the senators for their action which is good for the nation’s democracy.
Recall that the Senate on Tuesday reversed its self on section 52(2) of the Electoral Amendment bill which empowers INEC to determine the best mode of transmission of election results.
