Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi, says the state has recorded 40,000 and 25,000 increase in primary and secondary school enrollment respectively.
Governor Fayemi, who disclosed this in Ado Ekiti, the State capital, said his administration had spent N16bn to develop basic education in the state.
He stated that his administration had to pay N8bn counterpart fund to enable it access the N16bn.
The Governor, who lauded the Executive Secretary of the Universal Basic Education Commission, Hamid Bobboyi, for the job being done by the commission, stressed, that the intervention had been very helpful to the state.
