Bayelsa State Police Command says it has re-imposed curfew on Yenagoa, the state capital from 10pm to 6am daily.
A statement signed yesterday by the Command’s spokesperson, Asinim Butswat, disclosed that the decision was taken by the State Security Council as a result of the recent upsurge in incidents of armed robbery, kidnapping and other violent crimes in the state.
The statement also announced that the curfew on the state’s waterways and the ban on the use of speedboats with 200 horsepower engine is still in force.
It added that henceforth, vehicles with tinted glasses and covered number plates are banned from operating in the state.
