The Federal Government says it would carry out a health audit of the Ogoni people in Rivers State to ascertain the effect of exposure to hydrocarbon.
This was disclosed by the Minister of State for Environment, Sharon Ikeazor, during a one day stakeholder engagement programme held in Bori, Khana Local Government Area of the state.
Ikeazor maintained that the planned health audit was imperative to determine what interventions were needed.
The Minister assured that youths of Ogoni would be engaged in environmental surveillance to protect oil impacted sites being cleaned.
