The leadership and staff of various sub-venting institutions in Ekiti State have threatened to declare an industrial dispute with the state government over the failure to pay outstanding subventions to their institutions.
Speaking on behalf of the group, the State Chairman, Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, Kayode Arogundade stated that the union could no longer tolerate the deliberate disrespect for sub-venting institutions, urging stakeholders in the state to prevail on Governor kayode Fayemi to do the needful.
According to Arogundade, the labour group gave the Governor 24hours ultimatum to pay the 5 months arrears or face the wrath of the joint unions.
Meanwhile, the State Commissioner for Information, Akin Omole said the group would soon meet with the Governor and the outcome would be made public.
