The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, has appointed Friday Akpara, an Assistant Commander General of Narcotics, ACGN, as the new Commander for the Imo Zone.
The was disclosed in a statement signed by the Deputy Zonal Commander, Aloysius Nworisa and made available to newsmen.
The statement noted that Akpara will oversee narcotics activities in three States under the Imo NDLEA Zonal Command, which include Abia, Anambra, with Imo as its Headquarters.
It added that the creation of the Imo Zone will tackle the increasing waves of drug abuse, trafficking and criminality in the South-East Zone.
