The Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, has directed its members, affiliate unions, and civil society partners to prepare for the planned January 27 and February 1 nationwide protests against the proposed removal of fuel subsidy by the Federal Government.
This was disclosed on Tuesday by the NLC President, Ayuba Wabba, during a meeting with Leaders of Civil Society organizations held at the Labour House, in Abuja.
Ayuba said the organized labour would not allow the proposed fuel subsidy removal to stand, noting if it happens it will be disastrous for all in the country.
The NLC Chairman tasked its affiliates nationwide to mobilize their members for the rallies and ensure total compliance with the nationwide protests.
Recall that the Federal Government last year announced a plan to remove fuel subsidy by the first quarter of this year.
